Now nearing its final round of judging, the competition invited artists to create new digital works using a collection of over 25,000 public domain images from the gallery’s archives.

Artists use these historic images as the foundation for generative art, applying algorithmic techniques to create something entirely new.

Shortlisted artists include:

Starting at 8am PT / 11am ET September 19, the minting for the shortlisted projects will go live, allowing collectors to own a piece of this digital art collection. Additionally, the physical exhibition of these works will open in Helsinki on September 20.

You can also cast your vote for the Audience Favorite starting on the Combine24 website. The public’s vote will decide which artist wins the prize, with the winner being announced in October. Voting ends on 1 October.
