Highlight is excited to partner with the Finnish National Gallery for Combine24, a unique digital art competition that blends generative art with blockchain technology. Now nearing its final round of judging, the competition invited artists to create new digital works using a collection of over 25,000 public domain images from the gallery’s archives.
Artists use these historic images as the foundation for generative art, applying algorithmic techniques to create something entirely new.
Shortlisted artists include:
re-frame by Agoston Nagy
Perseverance by Blas.v
Inventory Numbers by Andreas Rau
Repetition and Noise by Jeremy Schoenherr (Jeres)
The Artist Code by Arttu Koskela (Shaderism)
Portrait Robot by Roni Kaufman
A Dance with History by Newyellow

Starting at 8am PT / 11am ET September 19, the minting for the shortlisted projects will go live, allowing collectors to own a piece of this digital art collection. Additionally, the physical exhibition of these works will open in Helsinki on September 20.
